An Aiken man has been sentenced to four years in prison for his role in a conspiracy to defraud investors.
Sixty-five-year-old Arthur Vann pleaded guilty to the charges in Nov. 2017. Evidence presented in the case showed that Vann directed clients to invest in a fund focused on the Cayman Islands, where he had an interest in various bank accounts. When clients’ funds were transferred, Vann diverted some of the funds into accounts he controlled. When confronted by investors, Vann sent them fake statements.
